Hailing from Saint John, New Brunswick, Aaron Grant is excited to be making his first radio offering of 2020. His self-penned tune “The Old Block” was recorded by multi CCMA award winning producer Jason Barry at Barrytone Studios right at home in the Maritimes. “Aaron has a unique voice that loves to be captured by a microphone.” recounts Jason. “I know he will offer the world beautiful music with his writing and melodies.” The track is extremely “radio friendly” and boasts the musicianship of the seasoned players that accompany CCMA and JUNO award winning country music star Dean Brody on tour. Clocking in at 3:35 the song shines as soon as Grant begins to sing.
“I’m really happy with what we’ve done on this release” says Aaron. “I like the story this song tells and I think people will genuinely relate to it. I knew I was in good hands with experienced producer Jason Barry. His mentorship was a guiding hand in the studio which brought the most out of this song.”
Grant’s new release comes as a follow up to “Heartbreak Bullet” which landed him a spot among the top 100 finalists across Canada in CBC's Searchlight: "The Hunt for Canada's Best New Artist". “I feel this release is the next step in keeping the momentum moving forward” says Grant.”
Grant’s style lays deep raspy vocal tones over his country-rock roots. Coming from a musical family with siblings that are well qualified on drums and guitar, his song writing themes are guided by blues, country, and rock influences. “The Old Block” may be his first release of 2020, but it sure won’t be his last.
